Most people will remember Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone, but did you know he was a WWII paratrooper or that he wrote the screenplay for the original Planet of the Apes? He created one of the most influential television shows in history, but he also a full life before and after The Twilight Zone.
Deadline is reporting that a Rod Serling biopic is currently in the early planning stages, with Stanley Weiser (Wall Street) writing and Carol Serling producing:
"Andrew Meieran and his Bureau of Moving Pictures has acquired rights to make a movie about Rod Serling, the Twilight Zone creator who left behind a remarkable legacy of sci-fi and fantasy work. Stanley Weiser, who wrote Wall Street with Oliver Stone, will script the movie. Serling's widow Carol Serling will be a producer along with Meieran."
