Ever since American Horror Story: Roanoke came to a bloody end, fans have been waiting for the first official details on the seventh season, and during his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed the surprising theme of season 7.

When Andy Cohen asked Murphy about the seventh season of American Horror Story, Murphy had this to say:

“I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through.”

Murphy went on to mention that there could be a Trump character in the series, but did not elaborate beyond that. Fans will have to wait for additional details, as it remains to be seen if the seventh season will be inspired by or directly based on the 2016 election.

At the end of season 6, the series shared a water-centric teaser (see below) that could be hinting at what to expect in the show's seventh season.

In addition to season 7, American Horror Story was recently renewed for an eighth and ninth season by FX. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more details, and watch the brief video of Murphy on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, below.
