Scream Factory made not one, but two surprise title announcements this weekend at the Halloween: 35 Years of Terror convention. Both 2002's Dog Soldiers and 2000's Ginger Snaps will be coming to Blu-ray in 2014. A specific release date has not been announced, as a deal was just signed, but they said to expect them in the Summer of 2014.

Both titles will be released under Scream Factory's "Collector's Edition" series, so expect extensive extras, including new bonus features. We'll have more details on both titles in the coming months. Until then, here are the plot descriptions and trailers for both movies:

Ginger Snaps: "The Fitzgerald sisters Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) and Brigitte (Emily Perkins), fascinated by the macabre, have sworn an oath: "Out by sixteen, or dead in the scene, but together forever". Outsiders at school, their only friends being each other, they live in a querulous world of their own. When they set out to take revenge on a girl who sleighted them, Ginger is attacked by a wild animal: The Beast of Bailey Downs. Later that night, as Ginger's wounds miraculously heal, it is clear she is changing. Ginger wants to believe it is nothing more than the onset of puberty; but her sister Brigitte knows better . . ."

Dog Soldiers: "On manoeuvres with their squad in the Scottish Highlands, soliders Cooper (Kevin McKidd) and Wells (Sean Pertwee) come across the ravaged remains of another military unit. The only survivor, Ryan, is badly injured and unable to explain clearly what happened; nevertheless the men get a pretty good idea when night falls and they themselves are attacked by unidentifiable wild beasts. Finding refuge with a family in a nearby house, the owner tells them about werewolves who hunt in the area, and the soldiers begin to dig in, preparing for a big fight. Meanwhile, Ryan begins to undergo some unexpected changes..."
