This past Friday the 13th, Scream Factory celebrated the horror holiday by announcing respective Collector's Edition Blu-rays for James Gunn's Slither and The Lawnmower Man (based on the Stephen King short story of the same name).

No special features or specific release dates for these Collector's Edition Blu-rays have been announced yet, but horror fans can expect to see them released this summer, and we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.

From Scream Factory: "Happy Friday the 13th! We couldn't let one of our favorite days go by without announcing a couple of titles so here's the first of two today: The 1992 virtual-reality film THE LAWNMOWER MAN will be heading to Blu-ray as a "Collector's Edition" sometime this Summer. No other details to report at this time."

Lawnmower Man synopsis (via Blu-ray.com): "A scientist performs experiments involving intelligence enhancing drugs and virtual reality on a simple-minded gardener. He puts the gardener on an extensive schedule of learning, and quickly he becomes brilliant. But at this point the gardener has a few ideas of his own on how the research should continue, and the scientist begins losing control of his experiments..."

From Scream Factory: "Our Friday the 13th celebration continues with one more reveal of a title coming this Summer: James Gunn's cult classic horror comedy SLITHER is planned for a Collector's Edition release!

No other details to report at this time. Who's a fan of this gory fun throwback to B-films?"

Slither synopsis (via Blu-ray.com): "The sleepy town of Wheelsy could be any small town in U.S.--somewhat quaint and gentle, peopled with friendly folks who mind their own business. But just beneath the surface charm, something unnamed and evil has arrived and is growing. No one seems to notice as telephone poles become clogged with missing pet flyers, or when one of the town's richest citizens, Grant Grant, begins to act strangely. But when farmers livestock turn up horribly mutilated and a young woman goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy and his team, aided by Grant's wife Starla, uncover the dark force laying siege to their town and come face-to-face with an older-than- time organism intent on absorbing and devouring all life on Earth."
