Following their work together on Elysium, Sony Pictures Entertainment and MRC recently announced that they were teaming up again to produce and finance Neill Blomkamp's next project, Chappie. Production is starting and we have the current cast list, that now includes Sigourney Weaver.

"Chappie tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes. The film will star Sharlto Copley as the voice of Chappie, with Ninja and Yolandi Visser, voices of the South African Zef counter-culture movement and members of rap-rave duo Die Antwoord, as the two gangsters."

The cast of Chappie also includes Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, Jose Pablo Cantillo and Brandon Auret. Unfortunately, there are no details on the characters they will be playing at this time, but we'll provide readers with more information as it becomes available. Chappie will be filming in Johannesburg, South Africa and is set to arrive in theaters on March 27th, 2015.
