Back in March, Lionsgate announced that Spiral: From the Book of Saw (aka Spiral) had been taken out of its May 15th release slot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it's back on the release calendar in May, albeit in 2021.

In a message on the movie's official Twitter account (see below), Spiral's new release date was revealed to be May 21st, 2021, moving it a little more than a year after its previous release date.

Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV) from a screenplay by Josh Stolberg & Pete Goldfinger (the co-writers of Jigsaw), Spiral stars Chris Rock, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw synopsis: "A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in SPIRAL, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game."
