It was recently revealed that Taissa Farmiga was in talks to return for American Horror Story's third season and it's now official. It has also been confirmed that Frances Conroy will be appearing in the upcoming season as well.

Once again, Ryan Murphy took to his Twitter account to make the announcement about Conroy: "Thrilled to announce the legendary Frances Conroy is on board for next season's American Horror Story." Previously, it was announced that the following Season 1 and 2 actors would be returning: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters.

The cast is still coming together, so we're definitely expecting a few more of the past actors to make an appearance, along with some new faces. There will be plenty of details revealed over the coming months, but here’s what Murphy recently had to say about the direction the new season will be taking:

“I mean, I don’t think anything could ever be as dark as the mental health care system in our country. I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more “evil glamour.” Just something that’s a little bit more…one of the things that I missed this season was I really loved having that Romeo & Juliet youth story with Violet and Tate. I want something like that again and we’re doing something like that in the third season. And we’re contemplating shooting the show in a different place. We’re contemplating shooting it in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans.”

The third season of American Horror Story is expected to premiere later this year, and an October premiere with 13 episodes planned seems likely. For more details, visit our earlier coverage at:
