One of the most exciting genre events in recent years, the Salem Horror Fest celebrated another successful gathering of horror lovers last year, and Daily Dead was thrilled to be a media sponsor of the 10-day event. This year's Salem Horror Fest looks to be the most memorable one yet, with The Faculty of Horror podcast returning for their third annual live show.

Taking place on Saturday, October 5th at CinemaSalem, The Faculty of Horror live show will feature co-hosts Alexandra West and Andrea Subissati discussing Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin (following a double feature of John Carpenter's The Thing and Under the Skin). That same day, West will present a new lecture on social media in horror films. To learn more about the live show, visit Salem Horror Fest's official website, and be sure to visit The Faculty of Horror online.

Salem Horror Fest 2019 will begin on Thursday, October 3rd and run through Sunday, October 13th. If you're looking to book a hotel or secure an Airbnb, then you'll want to do it here sooner rather than later, as space is limited.

We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further announcements from the festival. "The Faculty of Horror podcast will return to Salem Horror Fest for a third annual live show on Saturday, October 5th. Following a double feature screening of John Carpenter’s The Thing and Under the Skin, hosts Andrea Subissati and Alexandra West will provide insight and analysis focused on the latter film released in 2013 featuring Scarlett Johansson.

“We're so excited to be talking about Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin for our live show which has been an oft requested episode topic,” co-host Alexandra West said in a statement.

Produced independently in Toronto, Ontario, The Faculty of Horror podcast offers deep discussions about classic and contemporary horror films from an academic perspective. Previously, the podcast has recorded episodes featuring American Psycho and The House of the Devil at Salem Horror Fest in 2017 and 2018.

“We're thrilled to be returning to Salem Horror Fest for a third time! It's been wonderful to see the fest grow and thrive under Kevin's excellent programming and it's the perfect opportunity to experience the city at the spookiest time of year,” co-host Andrea Subissati added. “We can't wait to meet more of our listeners as well!”

Following last year’s presentation of Ladykillers: Women Who Killed in Film in 1990s, West will return with a new lecture on Saturday, October 5th. “I'm thrilled to be presenting a lecture I'm developing specially for Salem Horror on social media's emerging presence in horror films.”
