Following the news that Paramount has postponed the release of A Quiet Place Part II due to the coronavirus pandemic, Disney has pulled The New Mutants and Antlers from their release schedule.
According to Deadline, Disney is "looking at potential 2020 dates" to release The New Mutants and Antlers after taking them off the release slate.
This is the latest in several release date delays for The New Mutants. A horror film set in the X-Men universe, Josh Boone's The New Mutants was most recently slated to come out on April 3rd.
Directed by Scott Cooper, written by C. Henry Chaisson & Nick Antosca and Scott Cooper, and produced by Guillermo del Toro, Antlers was set to come out on April 17th.
The New Mutants is set up at Disney's 20th Century Studios, while Antlers is at Disney's Searchlight Pictures. We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on both of these films as more details are revealed.
The New Mutants synopsis: "20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive."
Antlers synopsis: "In ANTLERS, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences."
