It is being reported that a sequel to The Ring (US) may go found footage. We also have a new Korean teaser trailer for the upcoming Japanese Ringu sequel, Sadako 3D.
First up, THR spoke to Paramount's Adam Goodman who talks about future development plans for Paramount's Insurge Pictures. This is their microbudget label that released The Devil Inside and he mentions that they are looking into a found footage film for the next installment of The Ring: "The Ring is something that really lends itself to this format right now, so we're talking to [producer] Walter Parkes about doing something with that."
Sadako 3D is the upcoming Ringu sequel and we have the new Korean trailer, along with the international trailer, and a fun video of Sadako throwing the first pitch at the Tokyo Dome.
Sadako 3D Synopsis: "13 years after the original Ring movie, Sadako returns to the big screen in 3D! Akane is a high school teacher who hears a rumor from her students that there is actual footage on the Internet of someone's suicide. The footage is said to drive anyone who sees it to also commit suicide. Akane does not believe the rumor at first, but when one of her female students dies after viewing the footage, she and her boyfriend Takanori are fatefully drawn into the horror that has been created by the man who appears in the suicide footage, Kashiwada.
Kashiwada's intention is to create chaos in the world by bringing back Sadako and the power of her curse. Now Akane has to fight against Sadako and Kashiwada to save the lives of herself and Takanori."
