During an interview we conducted back in March with The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara, it was confirmed that Greg Nicotero would be directing a new set of webisodes. We now have the first details on what you can expect from the new episodes and a release date.

Titled Cold Storage, the new webisodes will premiere on October 1st. The story feature a new group of characters in the early days of the zombie outbreak, with a cast that includes Daniel Roebuck (Halloween IILost) and Josh Stewart:

"Cold Storage tells the story of a young man, Chase (played by Josh Stewart), trying to reach his sister in the early days of the zombie apocalypse. He finds temporary shelter in a storage facility run by a former employee named B.J. (Roebuck); however, things are not what they appear."

In total, there will be four five-minute episodes and we should have more details when AMC issues a press release. Until then, take a look at the preview image below, courtesy of USA Today.

The first webisode series premiered last October and gave us the backstory of the "Bicycle Girl" zombie. If you haven't watched them yet, you can check out the webisodes at: http://dailydead.com/the-walking-dead-6-webisodes-released/
