The Woman in Black was a big win for Hammer and it has been announced that they are working with the book's author on a sequel. Titled The Woman in Black: Angels of Death, the new story is said to "focus on a couple and the experience they have when they encounter the same eerie house."

Jon Croker was the story editor on the first movie and has been hired as the screenwriter for the sequel. While this announcement signals that development of the sequel is moving forward, it isn't far enough along where a director or actors have signed on. We're assuming that there would be interest to bring back at least some of the supporting cast, as the film will take place in the same town.

Susan Hill's novel of the same name was published in 1983 and has since been turned into a popular UK stageplay and TV movie, before the release of the Hammer movie earlier this year. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, The Woman in Black was released to US theaters on February 3rd. It will be available on Blu-ray/DVD on May 22nd:

“The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.”
