As shown in the final episodes of AMC's The Walking Dead Season 5's first half, Rick Grimes is taking less chances when it comes to dealing with human threats in his living dead world. Right now he'd rather shoot it out than talk it out with people like those at the Grady Memorial Hospital, and some members of his own group—Michonne and Daryl included—can tell that their fearless leader is perhaps more on edge than ever before. A newly released photo of Rick from the upcoming ninth episode (debuting on February 8th) reflects his unsettled state, while a second still features a concerned Michonne.
“After the tragic events of the mid-season finale – as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC – Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day-to-day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope. Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp onto what little they have left.
