Weekend Box Office Update

The Hangover Part II opened on Thursday and broke box office records this holiday weekend, including having the biggest opening for an R-rated comedy. Since Thursday, it has earned $118 million domestically and is on track for $135+ million by the end of Memorial Day.

Kung Fu Panda 2 also started on Thursday and opened a little light, considering the 3D ticket sales. It's domestic gross is on par with the original film's release in 2008. The big release for this coming week is X-Men: First Class on Friday, June 3rd.
