Earlier this week, we found out that Pruitt Taylor had been cast in season 2 of The Walking Dead as Otis, a foreman at Hershel's farm. Anyone who has read the comics knows the significance of Hershel's farm and it has been said that the farm will be a significant location in the upcoming season.

With the new season currently filming, we knew that Hershel's casting would be announced shortly and now we have confirmation on who's playing Hershel and his daughter Maggie. According to TV Guide, Lauren Cohan (Supernatural) has been cast as Maggie, and Scott Wilson (CSI, The Exorcist III) will be playing Hershel. Here's what producer Gale Anne Hurd had to say about the casting of Scott Wilson:

"[Hershel is] a veterinarian with a great sense of humanity and a very unique take on the Walkers." Expect Hershel to endure great heartache as "not everyone in his family survives." Scott was chosen, says Hurd, because of his "tremendous scope and gravitas."

The 13-episode second season of The Walking Dead is currently filming in the Atlanta area and will premiere this fall.
