We loved Grasshopper Manufacture's Shadows of the Damned, but unfortunately, sales were much lower than expected. While we thought the possibility of a sequel seemed unlikely, Akira Yamaoka's recent comments leave fans with a glimmer of hope.
During a recent talk with Eurogamer, Yamaoka had the following to say: "I'm thinking of a sequel, actually... I can't tell you here, but clearly I'd like to."
The site also reveals that EA is up for a sequel: "Asked whether it's something that EA, who worked in partnership with Grasshopper on Shadows of the Damned, would back any sequel, Yamaoka's reply was equally curt, if a little more definitive. 'Probably,' he said, before conceding: 'Well, yes.' "
Grasshopper's latest project is Lollipop Chainsaw, which has been getting quite a bit of buzz. If that games takes off, hopefully we'll be hearing more about a Shadows of the Damned sequel. If you haven't had a chance to play the game, it is now a PS3 and Xbox 360 budget title, so consider giving it a try.
