We return with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes details on a new comic series from Titan Comics, a trailer for Wesley Snipes’ Gallowwalkers, and more:
Gallowwalkers Trailer: “A mysterious gunman, Aman (Snipes), is the son of a nun who breaks her covenant with God to ensure his survival. This act brings a curse upon Aman – all those that die by his gun will return. Soon, he is hunted by a gang of his undead former victims, led by the vicious Kansa. Aman enlists Fabulos, a new young warrior, to fight by his side.”
Gallowwalkers was directed by Andrew Goth and stars Wesley Snipes, Tanit Phoenix, Riley Smith, Kevin Howarth, and Patrick Bergin. The movie has been finished for over five years, but VMI Worldwide recently picked up sales rights to the movie and we should see it appearing around the world later this year.
Kevin Shinick 501st Event at Meltdown Comics: “Emmy® Award-winning writer Kevin Shinick is an Annie Award recipient for his work on Robot Chicken. He is also the creator and main voice talent for MAD, the hit Warner Bros. comedy series airing on Cartoon Network. Shinick will be inducted into the legendary 501st Legion on Wednesday, February 27, at Meltdown Comics at 7:00 PM.
The Legion seeks to promote interest in STAR WARS through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for STAR WARS-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work. Now, the legendary 501st Legion inducts Shinick into their ranks. Details on Bloody Night: “Four university students travel to Budapest during the winter break holiday, but they find their lives endangered. Now, these four friends will have to fight for their lives, to escape a masked madman and killer.
Bloody Night is a slasher film that has recently completed principal photography. This disturbing title has been shooting in Budapest, Hungary since January of 2013.
With production complete, Bloody Night will begin its film festival run. This title will tour both Europe and North America. Bloody Night will show in over 20 horror film festivals. The first trailer for this horror title will release March 1st and Yildiz’s first feature film will debut in front of audiences in the second quarter of 2013.”

First Details for MemorieZ: “Sam is one of the last living humans on the earth, after a virus has infected nearly everybody. The infected transform to flesh eating zombies. While looking for a safety place to hide from the zombies, Sam meets the companion in misfortune Jack. They befriend and try to make their way together. But the zombies aren’t their only problems in the new world, other survivors seem to be very dangerous for Sam and Jack.
German filmmaker, Timo Rose, is making his first high budget horror flick named MemorieZ with an international cast such as Zara Phythian (The Hike) and Ruben Pla (Insidious). Other cast members include Brooke Bell and Rebekka Müller, and more will be announced soon.
MemorieZ is not just a brutal zombie-flick, it’s also a story about interpersonality, friendship, relationships and the loss of beloved people.
Shooting begins on the 1st of July in Germany, the USA and Great Brittain, and will hit international cinemas in 2014.”
