Penny Dreadful surprised fans when the show's story came to an end during the Season 3 finale. With the cat out of the bag, Showtime Networks, CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution have announced an October release for the third season, or as they've officially labeled it, Penny Dreadful: The Final Season.

"Eva Green stars in Season 3 of Penny Dreadful as Vanessa Ives faces the consequences of accepting her demons that could pay a terrible price and lead her into a word of utter darkness. Conflicts amongst their own monstrous selves plague Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), Dr, Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) the Creature and Lily (Billie Piper) in the TV Thriller."

While there are no details on special features at this time, we know that the Blu-ray and DVD release has been slated for an October 4th release. We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as cover art and a list of special features become available.
