When you add a pinch of '80s nostalgia with a dash of action and gore and mix them together you get Turbo Kid, which will be released in the U.K. on Blu-ray in October. Also: an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from Extinction and first details on the web series It Came from Candi's Lab.

Turbo Kid: Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release Turbo Kid on Blu-ray in the U.K. on October 5th. Turbo Kid stars Munro Chambers, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside, Edwin Wright, and Aaron Jeffery.

From Blu-ray.com: "Synopsis: Turbo Kid is a celebration of all things that were awesome about the age of movies on VHS. It's packed with nods to 1980s pop culture (even down to Atari-style credits and its synth-tastic score) and riffs on the kids' adventure movies such as BMX Bandits, The Monster Squad, and The Goonies.

And for the hardcore fans, there's another staple of the VHS – bucketloads of gore and violence. With its crazy decapitations, disembowelments, and dismembered limbs, Turbo Kid follows in the footsteps of other hyper pastiche movies such as Wolfcop and Hobo With A Shotgun, with director Jason Eisener bringing his grindhouse touch as a producer!

Also on hand is legendary actor Michael Ironside, who brings some serious genre credentials to the movie and leads a cast of up-and-coming talent.

The writing-directing team of Anouk Whissell, François Simard, Yoann-Karl Whissell have not only created a love letter to retro movies, but a love letter to the fans, who are sure to go crazy for The Kid.

So jump on your dirt bike, turn your walkman up to 11, and get turbocharged!

Special Features:

  • "Bloody Wasteland" - The Making of Turbo Kid (25 min)
  • "T is for Turbo" (5 min)."

It Came from Candi's Lab: Press Release: "(August 25, 2015) We Are Indie Horror is an internet community and social network connecting horror artists and fans from all spectrums of the genre from around the world. The WAIHTV production team is proud to premiere its first ever YouTube series, It Came From Candi’s Lab, on Thursday, August 27th. The show will feature working independent horror artists from all genres and platforms having a conversation with the murderously lovely host Candi Fear, played by Stephanie Williams. The show will have a 7 episode season, airing every Thursday at 3 PM Pacific time.

Candi runs her own homemade candy shop, suitably named Candi’s Candy, but behind all the pink and sweets lies a much darker secret. In the back room of her little shop, she uses her dark magic skills to capture fear from those who create it the best, the Fear Makers. Upon extraction of their fear, she manufactures batches of all different types of candies. After all, fear makes the sweetest candy. In order to harvest enough fear to fill her Flagon, Candi sends her dismal apprentice, Worm, to capture these fear makers so she can interrogate them. The cast rounds out with Jacob Saffle playing GOR, Candi’s poor dungeon pet. You can find him chained up to the walls most of the time being tortured, but in his downtime he can actually be quite delightful.

The show plans to promote independent artists, by giving in-depth interviews and showing off their talents. The show also taped an episode at ScareLA, which will give a unique view into some great new up and coming artisans, as well as run-ins with some well-known faces. Some people slated to appear are Gene Blalock (Seraph Films), Jenn Nangle (The Coatroom), Nick Eversman (The Depraved, The Duff), Hunter Johnson (LAHorror, 2Jennifer), Spooky Dan Walker (The Devil’s Carnival, Slay Belles), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), Neil Marshall (Tales of Halloween, Game of Thrones) and more. It Came From Candi’s Lab was written by Yjohnzail Mack and Chase Darwin, who also directed the series. About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
