Imagine watching your comrades slaughtered before losing consciousness, later waking up in a nightmarish world where shambling zombie-like creatures are only one wave of many hellish threats to come. This fate befalls Detective Castellanos in The Evil Within, a new survival horror video game from Resident Evil's Shinji Mikami that will be enjoyed by European gamers earlier than planned.

The Evil Within was initially expected to come out in Europe on October 17th, but now Bethesda has announced that the highly anticipated video game will be released in Europe, South Africa, India, and the Middle East on October 14th, the same day it hits shelves in the United States. Bethesda mentioned that The Evil Within is still set to come out in Australia and New Zealand on October 16th and in Japan on October 23rd. The game will be released to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The Evil Within features a voice cast that includes Anson Mount (AMC's Hell on Wheels), Jennifer Carpenter (Showtime's Dexter), and Jackie Earle Haley (2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street).

“While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.

Developed by Shinji Mikami and the talented team at Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within embodies the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story are combined to create an immersive world that will bring you to the height of tension. With limited resources at your disposal, you’ll fight for survival and experience profound fear in this perfect blend of horror and action.”
