If you were wondering what a certain key character from The Walking Dead comics might do after the big events of issues #152 and #153, then the jaw-dropping cover art for issue #156 should give you a pretty good idea of the epic story to come.

The Walking Dead #156 hits shelves on July 6th from Skybound. The cover art below is thanks to our friends at TheWalkingDead.com!

*Note: Artwork above is not part of issue #156 and was used to avoid spoiling Negan's escape for those that haven't caught up.

The title for issue #156, “Queen and King”, suggests that Negan and Alpha could potentially team up, giving Alexandria and the other communities one very difficult duo to go up against: the leader of The Whisperers with the former head of The Saviors.

But as readers know, when Negan holds someone close, it tends to be the embrace of death, and perhaps he could be the one to successfully challenge Alpha for her top spot. Either way, Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard have readers knee-deep in another awesome story arc, and July 6th can't get here soon enough!
