The 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo is starting to set up shop in preparation for the masses of the video game industry to descend upon the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 14 – 16, 2016. As expected, with E3 being one the leading trade shows in the video game industry just around the corner, announcements and rumors are plentiful right now, so here’s a look at ten games that hope to see next week at E3.

Resident Evil 2 (Remake): Capcom announced last August that Playstation fan-favorite Resident Evil 2 would be getting the remake treatment. Originally released in 1998 on systems like the Dreamcast and GameCube, this could be the first time a lot of players will get to see Leon and Claire in Raccoon City. Not much other information has been released besides Capcom clarifying via Twitter that Resident Evil 2 will be a “full from the ground up remake and NOT a re-master,” so hopefully we’ll know more by next week’s event.
Friday the 13th: The Game: This one is pretty exciting. After receiving over $800,000 through a Kickstarter campaign, Friday the 13th: The Game has become a reality. Due out in October 2016, the multiplayer game will feature eight-player maps where one player is Jason and the remaining seven are counselors trying to survive Jason’s wrath. Developer Gun Media has already released a few videos showing in-game footage, which has me all giddy. Gun Media has also announced the game play premiere for Sunday night on Twitch at 8:45 pm PST so fans will definitely want to keep an eye out for that too.
Battlefield 1: Being shown with a hands-on demo during the EA Play event will be DICE’s Battlefield 1, which has an official release date of October 21, 2016 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. The setting of World War 1 hasn’t been explored much in FPS games so it’ll be interesting to see what tech and load outs are possible. Touting 64-player open-world multiplayer maps, Battlefield 1 will surely have some massive action in store for players. If you just can’t wait until October, EA has also stated that an Open Beta will be available in the coming months too.

Fight as infantry or take control of amazing vehicles on land, air and sea, from the tanks and bikes on the ground, to biplanes and gigantic battleships, and adapt your gameplay to the most dynamic battles in Battlefield history.
Batman: A Telltale Game Series: Telltale games has already confirmed on Twitter that Batman: A Telltale Game Series will be released this summer. The game will follow an original storyline, while you play as either Bruce Wayne or Batman. Although no villains have been announced, it has confirmed that there will be a least more than one. Being a fan of Telltale games myself, I think it will interesting to see how their dialogue-driven play style will be applied to the Batman universe. It’s also worth noting that Telltale has also confirmed Walking Dead: Season 3 for fall 2016.
Dead Rising 4: Next up is Capcom’s Dead Rising 4, and if the rumor mill is correct, then we’ll be looking at complete remake of the original Dead Rising with the addition of 4-player co-op and online functionality. This would take players back to the zombie infested Colorado mall location of the first game, and maybe even the outlying suburban area as well.
Mafia 3: Confirmed for E3 is 2K Games return to the Mafia franchise with Mafia III being released October 2016. Following 2010’s Mafia II, this iteration of the open-world game is set in 1968 and will follow a new main character through the fictional city of New Bordeaux (New Orleans).
Official Synopsis: After years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. Now back home in New Bordeaux, Lincoln is set on escaping a criminal past. But when his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family on the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible. Intense gun fights, visceral hand-to-hand combat, white knuckle driving and street smarts will all be needed. But with the right crew, tough decisions and some dirty hands, it’s possible to make it to the top of the city's underworld.
The Evil Within 2: This is all speculation, but if the recent online rumors are to be believed, then it looks like Bethesda will be bringing The Evil Within 2 to E3 with them this year. We’ll have to wait until Bethesda’s official press conference this Sunday to find out for sure, but the odds look pretty good. With a strong first outing into the Survival Horror genre, The Evil Within was one of my favorites from 2014 and I’m really looking forward to a sequel.
Wolfenstein 2: Again, we’ll know more after Bethesda has their press conference this coming Sunday, but it also looks like we could be seeing a follow up to 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order coming out in 2017, if a tease from last year one of the series’ voice actors (as well as a recent report from Eurogamer) is to be believed.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Remastered: Following this year’s trend of sequels and re-masters, Eurogamer has also reported that Bethesda will be showing off the rumored re-master of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Besides having a visual upgrade, all DLC is thought to be included as well. Like many others, I spent countless hours running around doing the hundreds of quest lines in this game and I would love to be able to return now, on my next gen console.
Red Dead Redemption 2: One of the more buzzed about titles for E3, that we aren’t exactly sure whether or not will be officially announced during this year’s expo, is another installment of Red Dead Redemption. I’ve been waiting eagerly for a sequel to the open-world western since completing the original back in 2010 so this is a sequel I’ve been waiting to see get announced for a while now. We’ll see what Rockstar Games has in store for us next week, but my fingers are crossed.
