The remake of The Evil Dead (or is it now just "Evil Dead"?) is being promoted this week at the American Film Market, and the official title treatment has been released.

The plot synopsis being used at AFM was revealed last week, and as expected, it sounds very similar to the original film: "Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival."

Fede Alvarez is directing the remake and wrote the original script, along with Rodo Sayagues. Back in July, it was announced that Diablo Cody had been hired to polish up the script. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell are producing, and Campbell mentioned that he will have a cameo in the remake.
