In the past we've reported on the possibility of two horror-related projects from Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies). The first was a reboot of The Munsters and he's also working on a Hannibal TV series, which will focus on a Red Dragon-era Hannibal Lecter.
According to a new report both shows are on a "script-to series track" with NBC, which means that the network is avoiding the usual pilot-to-series pattern and will give the shows a full series order if they are happy with the script and overall season pitch.
The new version of The Munsters is said to be an edgier, slightly darker hour-long show that explores the origins of how the residents of 1313 Mockingbird Lane came to be. The only plot-related information we have on theĀ Hannibal series pitch at this time is that it will focus on the relationship between Hannibal and FBI profiler Will Graham.
We should have confirmation on whether or not either show will move forward with a series order before the end of the month. The Hannibal TV show will have a 13-episode first season commitment from NBC if they decide to pull the trigger. There is no information on the number of episodes planned for the first season of The Munsters, but we expect it to be similar.
