Mark Wahlberg's Contraband took the top spot this weekend, earning $24 million. That's definitely a respectable opening for an R-rated action film. In comparison, Max Payne earned $17.6 million on its opening weekend. Beauty and the Beast 3D didn't open as well as The Lion King 3D, but took second place with $18.4 million.
The Devil Inside fell quite a bit from last weekend, taking seventh place. This is not unexpected due to bad word of mouth over the ending and negative critical response. With that being said, the movie had a reported budget of $1 million and has earned $46.2 million since opening last weekend.
