Thom Yorke will lend his signature musical style to the eerie setting of a mysterious ballet school, as it has been announced that the Radiohead frontman will score the new take on Dario Argento's Suspiria.

Variety reports the news of Yorke coming on board the reimagining to compose the film's score—the first time he will undertake such an endeavor. The original Suspiria featured haunting music by Argento and Goblin, so Yorke certainly has a high bar to meet with the new movie's music.

Currently in post-production, the new Suspiria stars Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Mia Goth, Chloë Grace Moretz, and the original film's star, Jessica Harper. Luca Guadagnino directed the film from a screenplay by David Kajganich, adapted from the original film's script that was penned by Argento and Daria Nicolodi.

The new Suspiria takes place at a Berlin ballet school circa 1977 (the year the original film came out), where a new student discovers that all is not what it seems. Amazon Studios will release the film in US theaters, although a release date has not yet been revealed.

Earlier this year, Daily Dead joined other journalists at roundtable interviews for A Cure for Wellness, where Mia Goth had this to say about the new Suspiria:

"What I can say about that is that people are going to be pleasantly surprised when they realize this really isn’t a remake at all. And I think they’re really going to be shocked, too. There’s definitely a nod of the hat to Dario Argento’s Suspiria here, but we really take it to a completely different place. Luca has a real eye for the aesthetic, though, and he really knows what he wants. I think it’s going to be visually stunning."
