The Breach may have been closed in Pacific Rim, but that doesn't mean it can't be opened in the upcoming sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. Early next year, we'll able to see the return of the Jaegers and the Kaiju on the big screen, but we'll have to wait just a bit longer than expected, as Legendary and Universal have pushed back the release of the sequel by one month.

According to multiple sources, including THRPacific Rim: Uprising will be released in theaters on March 23rd, 2018, one month later than its previous February 23rd release date.

Produced by Guillermo del Toro (who also directed the first film in the franchise), Pacific Rim: Uprising was directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Netflix’s Daredevil) from a screenplay by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), with an earlier draft written by Jon Spaihts (The Mummy, Doctor Strange, Prometheus).

In the sequel to 2013's Pacific Rim, John Boyega stars as the son of Jaeger pilot Stacker Pentecost, who was played by Idris Elba, and you can see Boyega play the character in the recent Comic-Con teaser video for Pacific Rim: Uprising. We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed, including the official trailer.
