Produced by Guillermo del Toro (who directed the first film in the franchise), Pacific Rim: Uprising was directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Netflix’s Daredevil) from a screenplay by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), with an earlier draft written by Jon Spaihts (The Mummy, Doctor Strange, Prometheus).
In the sequel to 2013's Pacific Rim, John Boyega stars as the son of Jaeger pilot Stacker Pentecost, who was played by Idris Elba.
A Legendary film, Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled for a February 23rd, 2018 release from Universal Pictures, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.
