Hey, gang! Welcome back for another look at this week’s upcoming horror and sci-fi home entertainment releases. August 8th is going to be another busy day for fans, as we have some incredible Blu-ray and DVD titles to look forward to.

Arrow Video has put together an incredible limited edition Blu-ray set for Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator, and Scream Factory has assembled two stellar Collector’s Editions for both Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too. Fans of the Coen brothers' Fargo will undoubtedly want to add the new Steelbook edition of the film to their collections this Tuesday, and for those of you interested in unconventional vampire films, be sure to check out The Transfiguration this week, too.

Other notable releases for August 8th include The Night of the Sorcerers / The Loreley’s Grasp double feature, Three Tears on Bloodstained Flesh, The Dinner, Charlotte, and Dimension Z.

Fargo: Steelbook Collector’s Edition (Shout! Factory, Blu-ray)

In this seven-time Oscar-nominated film, things go terribly awry when small-time Minnesota car salesman Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy) hires two thugs (Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife so he can collect the ransom from his wealthy father-in-law. Once people start dying, the very chipper and very pregnant Police Chief Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) takes the case. Is she up for this challenge? You betcha.

The Night of the Sorcerers/The Loreley’s Grasp Double Feature (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)

A DOUBLE FEATURE FROM DIRECTOR ARMANDO de OSSORIO of the notorious Blind Dead series!

THE NIGHT OF THE SORCERERS
A group of explorers arrive in Africa to study the wildlife in the same area where a brutal native ritual occurred in 1910. All is tranquil until night falls and distant drumming draws one of the female members of the group to investigate the jungle. From there, a nightmare will be awakened … a nightmare of zombie natives and scantily-clad vampire women who prowl the moonlight jungle in search of fresh blood and more victims to sacrifice.

THE LORELEY’S GRASP
In a town by the Rhine river, young women are turning up dead … savagely torn to pieces and their hearts missing. Concerned that whatever beast is doing these horrible murders will end up attacking the female students, a nearby school for women hires a hunter to find and kill the creature. The hunter will soon find out that this is no ordinary beast that craves human hearts, but rather a deceptive, alluring and mysterious being (The Loreley) who is already looking for another heart to use in a gruesome ancient ritual.

Teen Wolf Too: Collector’s Edition (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)

High School Was Easy, But College Is A Whole Different Animal!

Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) stars as Todd Howard, a Hamilton University freshman with a full athletic scholarship: only Todd has no idea why, since he’s far more interested in veterinary medicine than sports. But his boxing coach, Bobby Finstock, is very familiar with the Howard family secret and he’s hoping he can use it to his advantage. When the whole school (including Todd) finds out that he’s a werewolf with superhuman abilities, Todd’s popularity skyrockets and he becomes the big wolf on campus.

But is his fame a gift? Or a curse? And can he keep it from getting in the way of the relationships he has with his best friends and girlfriend? Perhaps a little guidance from his professor (Kim Darby, True Grit), who has a secret of her own, may help Todd learn the biggest lesson of all.
