Night Moves (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Blu-ray)

L.A. detective Harry Moseby (Gene Hackman) has problems. Missing persons and bedroom stakeouts are no match for his glory days as a pro football player. His wife is having a not-so-secret affair. And while sorting things out, he takes on the case of a runaway teenager that may be a lot more than he can handle. Director Arthur Penn, who worked with Hackman on Bonnie and Clyde and Target, guides this spellbinding, first-rate thriller where solutions to murderous riddles don’t come easily. Joining Hackman and Penn are two actors just starting out on the road to stardom: James Woods and Melanie Griffith. The stars come out – and so does the excitement – when the Night Moves.

One Dark Night (Kino Lorber, Blu-ray)

A World famous psychic is found dead along with several victims of his bizarre experiments. One the same day his body is interred in a mausoleum, high-schooler Julie Wells (Meg Tilly, Psycho 2, The Big Chill, Body Snatchers) agrees to spend the night there all alone - as part of a hazing to join the clique, The Sisters (Robin Evans, E.G. Daily, Leslie Speights). Later that night, the sisters secretly return to torment Julie in an attempt to scare her out of her mind. But the girls are not alone. The psychic s experiments continue even after death - on his own body and on the dozen resident corpses in various stages of decay. Soon they're exhumed and looking for fresh bodies. One Dark Night haunts audiences' psyches with its claustrophobic setting, moody cinematography, foreboding score and ultra-realistic makeup effects. Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale gives a subversive take on small-town life. Things aren’t always what you expect in Riverdale. As a new school year begins, the town is reeling from the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom. The summer’s events made all-American teen Archie Andrews realize that he wants to pursue a career in music, but his fractured friendship with Jughead Jones, and Josie McCoy’s focus on her own band leaves Archie without a mentor. Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper is not ready to reveal her true feelings for Archie, and new student, Veronica Lodge, has an undeniable spark with her crush. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale’s Queen Bee, who stirs up trouble amongst Archie, Betty and Veronica. But is Cheryl hiding something about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there’s more to the story.
