Multiple updates we released today regarding Neill Blomkamp's latest sci-fi epic, Elysium. Latino Review has reported that Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (Elite Squad) will be joining Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley as the villain in the movie.

The Hollywood Reporter also has some very brief plot details. It was known that this will be some sort of future world setting, but THR has confirmed the setting, as well as the fact that Matt Damon will be playing an ex-con.

Lastly, Sony has set a release date for Elysium for March 1, 2013. This is a high-profile, big budget sci-fi production, but is such a long way from release in comparison to Prometheus which will be ready next spring and is just starting to shoot. I can't wait to see what Neill Blomkamp is going to do with his second film.
