Featuring arguably the most beloved zombie ever put to film, George A. Romero's Day of the Dead is a seminal standout in the horror genre that has grown a diehard fanbase in the thirty-plus years since its release. New takes on Romero's groundbreaking 1985 film were featured in 2005's Day of the Dead 2: Contagium and 2008's Day of the Dead, and now Saban Films has announced a January release date for the latest Day of the Dead reimagining.
After acquiring the US rights to Millennium Media's Day of the Dead remake, now titled Day of the Dead: Bloodline, back in September, Saban Films has announced a January 5th theatrical, VOD, and Digital HD release date for the film.
Directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens from a screenplay by Mark Tonderai and Lars Jacobson (based on George A. Romero's 1985 film), Day of the Dead stars Johnathon Schaech, Sophie Skelton, Marcus Vanco, and Jeff Gum.
Synopsis: "A reimagining of George A. Romero’s cult classic, DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world."
