The Lodgers Theatrical Release Date Announced, Watch the New Trailer: Press Release: "Los Angeles, CA (January 11, 2018) – Epic Pictures has set a February 23rd theatrical date for filmmaker Brian O’Malley’s new gothic horror film THE LODGERS, written by David Turpin and co-produced by Julianne Forde and Ruth Treacy of Tailored Films, the Irish Film Board, and Epic Pictures Group.

The film stars Charlotte Vega, Bill Milner, Moe Dunford, and David Bradley, with Deirdre O'Kane rounding out the cast. The film, which premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, will be released in theaters and on digital platforms on February 23, 2018.

1920, rural Ireland. Anglo Irish twins Rachel and Edward share a strange existence in their crumbling family estate. Each midnight, the mansion is haunted by the sinister presence of “The Lodgers,” which enforce three rules upon the twins: they must be in bed by midnight, they may not permit an outsider past the threshold, and they must stay together. When troubled war veteran Sean returns to the nearby village, he is immediately drawn to the mysterious Rachel, who in turn begins to break the rules set out by The Lodgers. The consequences pull Rachel into a deadly confrontation with her brother and with the curse that haunts them.

The film has been honored with 3 awards this year, including the Jury Prize for Best Film at the Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival in Barcelona, as well as official Jury Awards for Best Special Effects and Best Actress (Vega) at Fancine Festival de Cine Fantastico de la Universidad de Malaga in Malaga, Spain. The Lodgers was also the closing night presentation at the Sitges Film Festival which celebrated this year it 50th edition."

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
