Exciting news for Halloween fans! Not only is the new video game only weeks away from launching, but the game's developer, IllFonic, has teamed up with PANICK Entertainment (alongside partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front) for a brand-new Halloween comic book series set within the world of the video game!
Written by Hans Rodionoff and Adam F. Goldberg, with interior art by Eamon Winkle, colors by Robert Nugent, additional inks by Ivan Dedov and additional art by Sean O’Toole, the comic book takes "readers back to the terrifying events surrounding Halloween 1978, offering a new story featuring Michael Myers at his most relentless."
Similar to the upcoming video game, the comic book is said to begin "on the night before Halloween 1978, where Michael Myers orchestrates a brutal escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. As Dr. Loomis realizes pure evil is loose, Michael begins his relentless journey home toward Haddonfield, slaughtering anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path."

From the Press Release:
PANICK Entertainment and IllComic, alongside partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front, today announced a new co-publishing partnership to bring the world of IllFonic’s Halloween: The Game to comics with an all-new series set within the iconic horror franchise.
Written by Hans Rodionoff and Adam F. Goldberg, with art by Eamon Winkle, Robert Nugent, Ivan Dedov and Sean O’Toole, the comic takes readers back to the terrifying events surrounding Halloween 1978, offering a new story featuring Michael Myers at his most relentless.
Much like the upcoming game, the comic begins on the night before Halloween 1978, where Michael Myers orchestrates a brutal escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. As Dr. Loomis realizes pure evil is loose, Michael begins his relentless journey home toward Haddonfield, slaughtering anyone unfortunate enough to cross his path.
The new comic series expands upon the world and characters of the new HALLOWEEN video game while delivering a standalone horror story inspired by the mythology and atmosphere that made the original 1978 film a landmark of the genre.
“HALLOWEEN is one of the foundational properties of modern horror, and this game and story gives readers an incredible opportunity to get back to the characters and the world that started it all while offering some new elements that will surprise and terrify fans,” said Kris Longo, Founder and CEO of PANICK Entertainment. “The combination of Hans Rodionoff, Adam F. Goldberg and this phenomenal art team makes for an incredible HALLOWEEN comic. This is classic Michael Myers unleashed, and we think fans are going to love getting a glimpse of some truly spine-tingling moments that were not seen in Carpenter’s original film.”
For IllComic, an arm of IllFonic, the comic represents another opportunity to immerse fans in the sandbox of Halloween: The Game and will expand the stories of the new playable characters in the game: the Heroes of Haddonfield.
Malek Akkad of Compass International Films, a longtime comics fan, knew the comic book needed to have its own reason to exist. “Rather than just re-enact or adapt the story of the original film into a comic book, we wanted to explore the five new characters from the game and create new suspense-filled stories with Michael Myers,” said Akkad. “We wanted the comic to be able to stand on its own, so we put a lot of time and care into choosing the creative team, making sure that we were getting top tier artists and writers to bring the story to life.”
Charles Brungardt, CEO at IllFonic, shares, "At IllFonic creating immersive worlds for gamers’ favorite stories is what we pride ourselves on doing. Branching into comics with the creation of IllComic seemed like a logical next step in that story telling process. It can often feel like there is more story to tell and now we have a way to do that organically. And now with the right partners in place we are extremely excited to expand in this way."
The comic’s writing team brings substantial experience across horror, comics, film and television. Hans Rodionoff (Mnemovore) and Adam F. Goldberg (Victor Crowley’s Hatchet: Halloween Tales) have written several comics together that blend horror and comedy including “What If: Aliens” and “Damage Control” for Marvel and Zenescope’s “Possessive”. They also wrote the single-player script for the upcoming Halloween game, which serves as the foundation for this new comic series.
They are joined by artists Eamon Winkle, Robert Nugent, Ivan Dedov and Sean O’Toole, whose work brings Michael Myers, Dr. Loomis and the terrifying world of HALLOWEEN to life. The first issue will feature 3 variant covers, with interior art by Eamon Winkle, colors by Robert Nugent, additional inks by Ivan Dedov and additional art by Sean O’Toole. Covers B and C will be available to retailers in limited quantities of 1500 and 500, respectively. Writers for future issues include Timmy Heague on issue #3, James & Elyse Willems on issue #4 and Leon Reiser on issue #5. More news on those issues to follow.
IllFonic’s Halloween: The Game is currently in development and launches on September 8, 2026. The game brings a new immersive experience to the legendary franchise. The comic will provide fans with another way to enter the world of the game while delivering a story designed to stand on its own as a new chapter of HALLOWEEN horror.
Retailers can order the book from PANICK Entertainment via Massive Indies/Lunar Distribution and Universal Distribution, with a final order cutoff date of September 29, 2026.
