Exactly six months from today will be the night he returned to theaters, and to mark the occasion, the first official poster for the new Halloween movie has been unveiled.
Featuring a close-up shot of Michael Myers' mask, the new poster was posted on the Halloween movie's official Facebook page and can be viewed below. This version of Myers' white mask is wrinkled and worn, perhaps reflecting the decades that have passed since the late ’70s evening of John Carpenter's Halloween. The close-up also offers a look at Myers' eyes lurking in the shadows beneath the mask, adding another layer of scares and a peek at the man behind the horrors of Haddonfield.
In the new Halloween movie, which is expected to be a sequel of sorts to 1978's Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie for one final showdown with Michael Myers, and she won't be the only Strode going up against The Shape, as Judy Greer and Andi Matichak will play Laurie's daughter and granddaughter, respectively.
Also featured in the cast is Will Patton, who will play a police office, and Ginny Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid, who will play the friends of the teenaged Allyson.
Filmmaker and actor Nick Castle, who played the masked version of Michael Myers in John Carpenter's Halloween, will reprise his role as Michael Myers in the new Halloween movie, with James Jude Courtney also cast in the iconic role.
Slated for an October 19th, 2018 release from Universal Pictures, the new Halloween movie is directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride. Master of Horror John Carpenter executive produces and is expected to compose the score for the latest entry in the Halloween franchise. We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.
