Hello again, readers! Welcome back to another installment of Daily Dead Salutes Your Shorts, where we highlight several entertaining short-form horror films in an effort to spotlight some amazing filmmakers and their vivid imaginations. And because there are so many amazing shorts out there, this writer has decided to turn this monthly column into a bi-monthly column, just so we can celebrate even more shorts each and every month.

This week, we have an adorable animated short entitled Dead Friends on tap, as well as the original short film Cargo, which directors Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling have adapted into a feature that is currently available on Netflix. Filmmaker Josh Forbes (Contracted: Phase II) has a brand new short starring Steve Agee that I think fans will get a kick out of, and for those of you who like your horror to cut a little deep, be sure to check out Sean van Leijenhorst’s Banshee.

Dead Friends (Directed by Changsik Lee): "Decades after a mysterious incurable zombie virus spreads throughout the world mankind is in danger of going extinct. Among the infected there is an old zombie and a dog that remains loyal to his master and hopes he will become human again one day."

---------

Cargo (Directed by Ben Howling & Yolanda Ramke): "Stranded in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, a man sets in motion an unlikely plan to protect his precious daughter."

---------

The Submissive (Directed by Josh Forbes): "'The Submissive” is about a lonely loser who gets too stoned and finds a new friend in an unlikely place: living in her friends’ closet."

---------

Banshee (Directed by Sean van Leijenhorst): "After the mysterious death of her husband, a woman struggles with her sanity as she sets out to prove that the entity known as the Banshee is responsible."
