Lucifer fans rejoiced when the series was picked up by Netflix for a fourth season following its cancelation at FOX, and now there's a new reason for fans to celebrate (albeit bittersweetly), as the streaming service has renewed Lucifer for its fifth and final season.
The Lucifer renewal news was announced on Twitter in a video (see below) featuring Tom Ellis (who plays Lucifer Morningstar, based on the DC Comics character from the minds of Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg) exulting in the announcement's wake.
The tweet also revealed that the fifth season will be the show's last. It's not yet known how many episodes season 5 will contain, but the fourth season (the first one to premiere on Netflix) consisted of 10 episodes.
We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on future Lucifer announcements. In the meantime, what do you hope to see in the show's final season?
