Weekend Box Office Update

The Hunger Games managed to once again hold off all new releases this weekend, earning an estimated $21.5 million at the box office. It has made $337 million since opening and it will be interesting to see if it can hold the top spot again next week. The Three Stooges took second place with $17.1 million, which was lower than Fox was probably hoping to get out of the PG comedy.

The Cabin in the Woods may have only reached 3rd place with $14.85 million, but positive reviews and word of mouth could see this movie doing solid business over the next few weeks. Lockout was the last of this week's new releases and took 9th place, earning $6.25 million. That wasn't completely unexpected given that the movie was only playing in 2,300 theaters. Next week sees the release of The Lucky One and Think Like a Man. Here are the top 10 results for this weekend:
