One of those projects that we hear about every so often is a remake of Child's Play and it seemed like it was moving forward back in 2008, but with MGM financial troubles this was one of those projects that got pushed back. Movieweb is reporting that the issue between Universal and MGM regarding the rights to Child's Play sequels has been resolved and that we could see a remake/reboot of Child's Play go into production this year:

"Production is said to begin on the remake sometime later this year, with Brad Dourif returning to voice Chucky. This new project is said to be more of a reboot, with a darker tone and less comedic elements..."

Right now this is unconfirmed by MGM, so consider this a rumor from a reputable source. As soon as MGM/Universal comments on this story or issues an official announcement, we'll be sure to post with a follow up.
