Viewers can answer the call on Monday, December 9th when the trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie—now officially titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife—is released online, but to help hold fans over until the big trailer premiere, new images, an official teaser poster, and intriguing plot details have been revealed.
Unveiled by Vanity Fair on Twitter, the new images from Ghostbusters: Afterlife can be viewed below, offering a look at the film's core cast, including Paul Rudd as Mr. Grooberson, as well as Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard as siblings Phoebe and Trevor, respectively.
According to Vanity Fair, Rudd's character was a child during the events of 1984's Ghostbusters, when the skyscraper showdown with Gozer took place, an event known to the general public as the "Manhattan Crossrip."
As the children of Carrie Coon's single mom character Callie, Phoebe and Trevor are getting to know their new surroundings after inheriting an Oklahoma farmhouse from their enigmatic grandfather. While it hasn't been confirmed who that grandfather is, longtime fans of the franchise may have a strong inkling of his identity, especially since the rural property is home to the hidden Ecto-1.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, most of the cast members from the original Ghostbusters are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel (with Dan Aykroyd also executive producing the film), and we'll be sure to share the new trailer right here on Daily Dead when it's unveiled on Monday.
In the meantime, you can check out the new images below (via Vanity Fair), and we've also been provided with a teaser poster to share with Daily Dead readers. Also, be sure to head over to Vanity Fair for more details on the new movie.
