If you've read the fairy tales recorded by the Brothers Grimm, then you know they were originally much darker and foreboding than what we consider fairy tales to be now. Tapping into the terror of one of the most horrific Grimm fairy tales, filmmaker Osgood Perkins invites viewers deep into the woods for an even more twisted take on Hansel & Gretel in the upcoming horror movie Gretel & Hansel, and ahead of its release in January from Orion Pictures, we've been provided with a new poster to share with Daily Dead readers.
Directed by Osgood Perkins from a screenplay by Rob Hayes, produced by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger, and executive produced by Sandra Yee Ling and Macdara Kellehe, Gretel & Hansel stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Charles Babalola, Alice Krige, and Jessica De Gouw.
Orion Pictures will release Gretel & Hansel in theaters on January 31st, 2020. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates, and check out an unsettling snack in the new poster below:
