In February it was announced that Guillermo del Toro will be producing a new CG-animated project titled Day of the Dead, which was described as a Romeo and Juliet love story that takes place around the Mexican holiday. Now, we have another project just announced by Pixar that will also take place on Dia de los Muertos.

At this time very little is known about the movie, other than the fact that Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich is working on the project. Here is his recent Tweet, announcing his involvement: "So excited to finally reveal my next movie at Pixar: a story set in the world of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos."

As anyone who follows Pixar development knows, it takes a while to produce these animated films, with projects taking years to complete. Variety reports that the Dia de los Muertos movie is currently targeting a release in 2015.
