Lauro Chartrand-DelValle is most recently known for his work on Shōgun as stunt coordinator and second unit director, but on top of that excellent series, he has stunt credits on over 300 projects, including The Midnight Club, Midnight Mass, The Predator, The X-Files, Godzilla, and many more that Daily Dead readers will be familiar with. Now, he's directed, written, and produced the supernatural indigenous film Protectors of the Land, and we can exclusively reveal that Tubi has acquired the movie, with it releasing to their platform on July 4th. "The new feature film ‘Protectors of the Land’ directed, written, and produced by ‘Shogun’ Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director Lauro Chartrand-DelValle has sold to Tubi and will be available to watch beginning July 4.

Starring Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp, Karate Kid: Legends), Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone), Nathaniel Arcand (Sinners) and Graham Greene (Wind River, Dances with Wolves), the supernatural action thriller follows a white man (Rozon) who becomes embroiled in a violent drug war in their Alaskan town. His Indigenous wife (Beatty) becomes endangered during the conflict, which prompts him to team with her brother (Arcand) to find justice.

In addition to directing, Chartrand-DelValle is the Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director for top TV series, including ‘Shogun’ and ‘Tracker.’ ‘Protectors of the Land’ was executive produced by Sharlene Royer. Chartrand-DelValle and Royer both won SAG Awards for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series for their work on ‘Shogun.’ The duo will return to work on Season 2 of ‘Shogun’ and they are currently in development on their next feature ‘Crimson Creek Massacre.’ Sales for ‘Protectors of the Land’ done by Enlighten Content."
