We wanted to give a brief follow up to Friday's rumor that Guy Pearce had joined the cast of Ridley Scott's PrometheusThe Playlist has officially confirmed with representatives for Guy Pearce that he has indeed joined the cast, although there is no information about the role he will be playing.

Prometheus is currently filming, with a target release date of June 8th, 2012. Pearce joins Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Logan Marshall-Green, Kate Dickie, Benedict Wong, and Emun Elliott.
