Megan Ellison purchased the rights to The Terminator franchise in early 2011, and although there has been a little talk about a new movie since then, there haven't been any major developments for a while. Today, it was revealed that two writers have been hired to work on the next installment of The Terminator.

Deadline reports that Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier will be working together on a new script. Laeta Kalogridis' writing credits include Alexander, Pathfinder, and Shutter Island. As a producer, she was involved on Birds of Prey, Avatar, and Shutter Island. Many horror fans should be instantly familiar with Patrick Lussier, as he as he directed My Bloody Valentine and Drive Angry, along with a number of other films. As a writer, he worked on Drive Angry and multiple Dracula films.

Megan Ellison is partnering up with her brother, David, who has been involved with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher, GI Joe: Retaliation, Star Trek Into Darkness, and World War Z. There are no details on what the story will be about or when we can expect the movie to hit theaters, but we'll keep readers posted on any new developments.
