For the release of The Walking Dead Season 2 on Blu-ray, McFarlane Toys released a limited edition zombie head case and they've outdone themselves with the new case for The Walking Dead Season 3. Fans of the comic book and TV series will instantly recognize the photos below as part of The Governor's collection of heads and now you can have your own miniature version.

The case features five plastic decapitated zombie heads and, as you can see below, the base even lights up. On top of that, Todd McFarlane says that it has been designed so you can fill it with water:

“We thought it would be fun for the consumer, after buying the case and taking it home, had to get a little interactive, because we’re not supplying the water!... So you’re going to have to fill up the tanks yourself, and we’ve got little hooks on the heads, so you can arrange them any way you see fit. You can hang them in a certain order, or you can just let them go to the ground and flop around. No one person’s case has to be exactly like the other’s.”

Interestingly, MTV Geek reports that the design for the case was made before Season 3 started filming. Here's what Robert Kirkman had to say about the process: "McFarlane has a very intimate relationship with AMC, so I was approving concepts on this Blu-Ray case before Season Three even aired... So while we were building things on set, Todd and the team at McFarlane Toys were coming in and scanning actors and scanning props. So having them come in and do the fish tank with the severed heads while we were still building it for the show is a pretty cool thing, and I think makes these products much more accurate and cooler for the fans.”

There is no release date or price yet, but the Season 2 head case was released in late August for $99.99 and we'd expect a similar plan for the Season 3 release. Take a look at the photos below, courtesy of MTV Geek, and we'll have more details when the Blu-ray/DVD versions of The Walking Dead Season 3 are officially announced by Anchor Bay.
