Vin Diesel and Pitch Black/Chronicles of Riddick director David Twohy have been working on putting together an R-rated Riddick sequel for years now, but according to Vin Diesel, it looks like things are moving forward:

"D T the writer/director just landed in New York with the good news. We can start filming this summer. However, there is a catch... in order for us to make a true R rated film, I must work for scale upfront. Not unlike the "Find me Guilty" experience (which I wouldn't have changed for the world)...

Money is always second to art, integrity and spirit... but the real issue is deeper. Can I suspend my life, to momentarily venture to that dark place... called Riddick."

This isn't out of the ordinary for independent or smaller budget films, and with his big pay day from Fast Five, he can probably take the temporary financial hit to film a new Riddick movie, which is obviously a passion project. Visit the source link below to tell Vin Diesel what you think.
