Weekend Round-Up

2011/06/06 00:08:51 +00:00 | Jonathan James

Monday starts the insanity of E3, where we will have a year's worth of gaming news in a single week. Expect plenty of horror coverage this week, including all kinds of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Alien gaming news. This past week has been a little bit slow on the news front, but here are a few minor items that caught our eye:

Dracula 3D Updates: If you'd like to stay up to date on the status of Dario Argento's Dracula 3D, Asia Argento has been posting some pictures and updates to her Twitter account. You can check it out a photo of her as Lucy right here: [Source: Twitter]

Idris Elba in Pacific Rim?: Idris Elba has been busy filming genre movies including Thor, Prometheus, and the new Ghost Rider, and may also be taking a role in Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim. Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) is currently attached to star in the giant monster movie for Legendary Pictures. Jaws Blu-ray Update: Ain't it Cool News spoke with Steven Spielberg, who revealed that not only is a Jaws Blu-ray in the works, but that it will not receive any digital corrections. This should be a relief to those that were worried it might be digitally updated in the same way E.T. was. There is no release date yet, but you can read Spielberg talking about his new philosophy in regards to correcting past films. [Source: AICN]

New Rage Gameplay Trailer: You can catch a new gameplay trailer for Rage at the source link below. The upcoming shooter from id Software will be released on September 13th. [Source: VE3D]

Daily Dead Updates: We've been preparing a new version of the site and we're still planning to roll it out in the middle of June. The update will include a revision to the layout, new sections, more contributors, and more exclusive content. Thanks for all of the support and feedback we've received so far. If you're interested in contributing to Daily Dead, send us an email.
