Fox must be really happy with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, because it has been announced that director Matt Reeves has already signed on for the next installment. According to Deadline, Reeves is also in talks to write the script with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes writer Mark Bomback.

Although the original report refers to it as Planet of the Apes 3, that's very likely just a working title. We'll let readers know as soon as an official title and release date are announced.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be released on July 11th and stars Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. Here's a look at the recently released trailer:

“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
