The 2011 Emmy Nominations were just announced, and genre shows, including The Walking Dead and True Blood were mostly kept out of the major categories. Michael C. Hall picked up a "Lead Actor in a Drama" nomination for Dexter and Alfre Woodard was nominated for "Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" for True Blood.

The Walking Dead picked up three nominations. The first was for "Outstanding Sound Editing For A Series" and and the other, well deserved nominations were for "Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series" and "Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series".
